Pain Cafe

The Pain Café is a collective of experts dedicated to empowering individuals with chronic pain by equipping them with practical skills to manage their condition, rather than relying solely on clinical interventions. With the concept “Skills, Not Pills,” The Pain Café is transforming the way people approach pain management, providing resources and community support across Cornwall and beyond.

The Objective

The Pain Café sought a website that could serve as a central hub while supporting individual branches - referred to as spokes, across multiple locations. The platform needed to be scalable, fast and secure, offering a reliable resource for visitors while enabling the flexibility to grow the network of Pain Cafés across Cornwall and eventually further afield.

Pain Cafe

Project details

The Pain Café’s website was designed to embody their hub-and-spoke model, with a central hub providing information about their mission and individual spokes dedicated to specific branches.

We used a static site architecture with a headless CMS to deliver a fast, secure and scalable platform that meets the organisation’s current needs while supporting future expansion.

This flexible setup allows The Pain Café team to easily manage content and add new branches as they grow. The design includes interactive features, such as maps and event listings, to enhance usability and create a seamless experience for visitors. The result is a robust, low-maintenance website that aligns with The Pain Café’s mission and supports their ongoing growth.

Our approach

How we meet these challenges with solutions:

Hub-and-Spoke Architecture

The central hub acts as the core of the website, showcasing information about The Pain Café’s mission and resources, while each spoke represents an individual branch. This structure ensures consistency across all locations while allowing customisation as needed.

Static Site Advantages

The static architecture ensures blazing-fast load times, high reliability and robust security, with minimal ongoing maintenance.

Flexible Growth Platform

The headless CMS allows The Pain Café to add new branches quickly and efficiently as they expand beyond Cornwall.

Scalable Structure

The website needed to support the hub-and-spoke model, ensuring that both the main site and individual branches could function cohesively.

Budget and Performance

The Pain Café required a solution that was not only cost-effective but also delivered exceptional speed, reliability and security.

Future Growth

The platform had to be adaptable to support the organisation’s expansion beyond Cornwall, while maintaining ease of management.

Results
